I try not to be someone who is always looking ahead too far. I usually find it more rewarding to try to live life in the moment, and try to make the most of this moment in time. This may be a noble goal, but one that just doesn't seem possible at this time of year!! Toronto Boat Show is over, we just visited the Montreal Boat Show, and the Ottawa edition is less than a month away. How much further can spring be, and when can I go boating again!?!
Where do you want to be exactly in 100 days time? For me it's easy: I want to step into a boat, fire it up and head out on the Big Rideau. I will have my family with me, and hope to meet up with some friends out on the lake. The water will be calm, and the sun will be warm enough to hint at what a hot and amazing summer this will be! After a day on the water I want to pull up to the dock at The Galley, and have a beer and a great meal.
That's where I want to be.....how about you?

Re: Where Do You Want to Be in 100 Days? I am sorry for not responding as fast as I normally do. 100 days from when Sean asked would place me on either RHD II welcoming all my very missed friends back to the best place on the Rideau...Lens Cove...OR you might catch me on the back of the new edition to the RHD line...Hint Hint Doug!...Actually regardless of what might be sitting under me at that time, the most important thing 100 days from now will be seeing all of you that might be reading this. I am so grateful to have met an endless list of new friends and a very significant new relaxing lifestyle. When I am on the 401 driving down to Portland I anticipate the camaraderie, laughter and above all finding out everyone made it safely back to the place we all want to be…Looking forward to seeing you all!Smitty

Re: Where Do You Want to Be in 100 Days? From one of the seminars at the boat show this year, it was explained that one should not necessarily have plans or schedules, but intentions. Therefore my intentions are in 100 days to be stepping onto our new boat on Lake Simcoe, and enjoying a beautiful day of cruising with family and friends. To explore an area that I have only briefly passed through on two occassions. Further to that, in 129 days from today it is our intention to bring the boat down the Trent/Severn Waterway, and back to Len's Cove, were hopefully we will have a slip again alongside our many friends at LCMWill-n-Joy

Re: Where Do You Want to Be in 100 Days? Two comments - (1) AT THE COTTAGE (2) ON THE BOAT.Are you having a prediction competition as to when the ICE will leave the lake this year? I predict the 5th April at 1600hrs (give or take).Heading south on Monday. Back in March. Keep warm.

Re: Where Do You Want to Be in 100 Days? We absolutely will be having that annual tradition continue. Keep an eye here or follow us on Facebook or Twitter so you know exactly when we open it up!

Re: Where Do You Want to Be in 100 Days? It is now February 9th, and in 100 days the locks will open for another navigation season.

Re: Where Do You Want to Be in 100 Days? I asked Jill where she wanted to be in 100 days. She said France. I looked at the Rideau River map and i couldnt find France any where. So in a 100 days iam hoping to be on the Rideau with our 270 Rinker looking for this place called France. Iam sure its out there some place because she nows in 100 days thats the start of boating season and she wants to be in a place called France.Does anybody know when i leave LCM should i head Ottawa way or Kingston way?Pete

Re: Where Do You Want to Be in 100 Days? Pete....maybe a good french wine will do the trick? There is a "Paris Ontario" (on the Grande River). That sounds be a little adventurous for that early in the season! ;-)

Re: Where Do You Want to Be in 100 Days? Hey Toby,The 5th is too late, it's going to be the 4th again this year. I'll betcha a beer...Pete,My suggestion is to write France on that chunk of metal that hangs over the pointy end of your boat. That way you're at France wherever you decide to anchour. If you have the stomach / time to do the locks all the way to either Kingston or Ottawa, consider locking through Ottawa and carry on to Montebello for a nice layover.

Re: Where Do You Want to Be in 100 Days? Well, I think the ice will be gone March 31st at this rate; what a mild winter we've had. . . .
